Troubleshooting Native Instruments KONTROL F1.

NI’s awesome KONTROL devices communicate using a special protocol, and can also be used as a MIDI device with the correct software installed – which is what we need to get it running with Melodics!

Before you start

In order to get going, you need to ensure that the Native Instruments Controller Editor is installed – this should have been done when you first set up your KONTROL.

Getting KONTROL F1 going
  1. Open the Controller Editor, select Template 1
  2. If template 1 has been modified, create a new template to select and use Templates h Edit h New
  3. If this still doesn't work, check you are in MIDI (not TRAKTOR) mode using the below
Model Switch to / from MIDI mode
KONTROL F1 SHIFT + BROWSE

And you should be ready to go!

Hey there!

Melodics is a desktop app for Windows and Mac.

Enter your email address and we’ll send you a link so you can grab it later on your computer

What hardware will you be using to play Melodics?

Melodics works best with hardware.

You can play it with your computer keyboard, but it is a much better experience with access to a MIDI keyboard, pad controller, or MIDI drum kit.
