Troubleshooting Korg padKONTROL.

The padKONTROL supports multiple scenes – to play nice with Melodics, you need to be on the Scene 1.

#1 is the one.

Melodics supports the default Scene 1. This should be the default layer for most users, but if Melodics isn’t playing ball, first try manually switching to it:

Press SCENE + Pad 01 (top left)

If that doesn’t work…

Try “old faithful” – unplugging it and reconnecting it to get it back to the default state.

Still no good?

The other thing you can try is a factory reset.

  1. Hold down the SCENE key and press the FIXED VELOCITY/PRELOAD key. The key will light, and the SETTING/ENTER key will blink.
  2. Use the ENCODER to select “ALL”, and then press the SETTING/ENTER key. The display indicates “Lod” and loading begins – when completed, the display will stop blinking.

And you should be ready to go!

What hardware will you be using to play Melodics?

Melodics works best with hardware.

You can play it with your computer keyboard, but it is a much better experience with access to a MIDI keyboard, pad controller, or MIDI drum kit.
